Clear Future Project

Building Speech, Transforming Futures

One in four children starting nursery or reception struggle to understand or use language. Without timely support, these challenges can affect literacy, social skills, and long-term learning outcomes.

About the Clear Future Project

With over 25 years of experience, including 23 years in mainstream schools and specialist provisions, I’m driven by a deep passion for supporting children with speech, language, and communication needs (SLCN), and for equipping school staff with the skills to help them thrive.

Through strong links with local primary schools, I’ve seen first-hand their commitment to supporting every child, despite limited resources. The growing demand for specialist training and therapy has inspired the creation of the Clear Future Project, a dynamic, community-based initiative designed to bridge that gap.

Our mission is to deliver sustained, needs-led, and school-sensitive support that responds directly to local challenges and creates measurable, lasting outcomes for children, families, and school staff.

Why Early Speech and Language Support Matters

Early speech, language, and communication development form the foundation of a child’s education and wellbeing.

Research shows that up to one in four children starting nursery or reception struggle to understand or use language — with higher numbers in disadvantaged areas. Without timely support, these challenges can affect literacy, social skills, and long-term learning outcomes.

By investing in early specialist intervention, we can ensure that children develop the communication skills essential for participation, progress, and lifelong success — giving every child the best possible start.

    Bridging the Gap

Despite the clear evidence and the enthusiasm of schools to do more, many are struggling to sustain consistent speech and language support.

In my work across both mainstream and specialist settings, I’ve seen the remarkable difference that early intervention can make, children finding their voice, teachers gaining confidence, and families feeling empowered. Yet, increasingly tight school budgets often force short-term decisions that limit access to these vital services.

The Clear Future Project was created to change that, to connect community support with schools’ real, on-the-ground needs. By funding specialist input directly, local businesses and individuals can help schools access the expertise and resources that make a lasting difference, without the barrier of budget restrictions.
